To have any chance at an unshakeable House majority and 60-seat Senate majority, the Democratic Party must develop a bold Red State strategy for 2026 & 2028.
I don't want them to have anything unshakable. The Democrats in Congress aren't much better than the Republicans. Now that the lines have been crossed, they will just do it too.
It’s nuanced for sure and I get what you mean. Like when Bush invaded 2 countries, then Dems ran on stopping that kind of behavior, got elected, then proceeded to dramatically escalate drone strikes around the world, etc. I also worry a Dem president (like Newsom) will use the newly enhanced executive branch hypocritically, hiding behind their abuse of power in substance to mask their abuse of it in function. But that’s all part of the conversation Freedom Summer 2.0 should have. Federal corruption affects working class Americans equally, beyond state borders. Realistically, I think the only way to pass needed anti-corruption measures is to elect Dems in 2026 with huge majorities that conduct jaw-dropping impeachment hearings that make anti-corruption measures priority #1 for a (hopefully worthy) 2028 Dem President.
